About Breathing Air

The same air you breathe, just purified, dried, and pressurised.

Breathing air is exactly what it sounds like, atmospheric air that has been compressed, filtered to remove moisture and contaminants, and certified clean enough to breathe directly from a cylinder. The standards are strict because anything you breathe under pressure (underwater, in a fire, in a confined space) goes straight into your lungs without filtration. Oil traces, particulates, and water vapour all need to be at near-zero levels.

At Smart Pro Gas, we supply two grades. Medical air, certified for hospital and clinical use, powering ventilators, nebulizers, and pneumatic medical equipment. Breathing air to international standards (commonly EN 12021 / Grade E), for scuba divers, firefighters, and industrial respirator users across Dubai. Both filled in clean conditions, both certified, both delivered fast.

Applications

What people use our air for.

Purified air supports four very different worlds: hospitals, divers, firefighters, and industrial respirators. Here is how each one uses our air, and which grade matches each job.

Most popular

Scuba diving and dive shops

Breathing-grade compressed air for recreational and commercial divers across Dubai. We refill SCUBA cylinders to international breathing-air standards, supplying dive shops, dive boats, and offshore commercial diving teams. Standard 232 and 300 bar fills, individual cylinders or bulk supply for fill stations.

Fire & rescue

SCBA cylinders for fire and rescue

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) cylinders for fire crews, hotels, malls, industrial facility fire teams, and rescue services. We refill SCBA cylinders to certified breathing-air standards, with fast turnaround so cylinders are back in the rack before they are needed. Trade pricing for facility management contracts.

Medical

Hospital and medical air

Medical-grade air for hospitals, ICUs, and clinics, used to power ventilators, anesthesia machines, nebulizers, and pneumatic surgical tools. Often used alongside oxygen at the bedside to deliver carefully blended air-oxygen mixtures for ventilator patients. Supplied to medical facilities on standing orders.

Industrial

Industrial respirators and confined-space work

Breathing air for supplied-air respirator (SAR) systems used in painting, sandblasting, asbestos removal, chemical handling, tank entry, and confined-space work. Critical for jobs where the surrounding atmosphere is contaminated or oxygen-deficient. We supply contractors and industrial users on regular schedules.

What our air cylinders look like.

Our breathing and medical air cylinders are high-grade steel or aluminum, pressure-tested to UAE safety standards, and sealed with a tamper-proof valve. Each cylinder ships with a clear label showing gas type, grade, fill date, and certification. SCUBA and SCBA cylinders use specific valves and pressure ratings for their applications.

Two grades, four use cases.

We supply medical-grade air (certified for hospital use) and breathing-grade air (EN 12021 / Grade E for SCUBA, SCBA, and respirators). Sizes vary by application: 12-litre SCUBA tanks, 6-litre SCBA cylinders, larger fixed cylinders for medical use. Message us with what you need.

FAQs

Common questions about breathing air.

Both are purified compressed air, but the certification standards differ. Medical air is filled to pharmacopeia standards for hospital and clinical use, with strict limits on moisture, oil traces, and contaminants suitable for patients on ventilators or nebulizers. Breathing air follows international breathing-air standards (commonly EN 12021 / Grade E in the UAE), suitable for SCUBA divers, firefighters, and respirator users. The two grades use different cylinder valves and identification, so they cannot be mixed up.

Air refill prices depend on cylinder size, grade (medical or breathing), and whether you are a one-off customer or on a standing schedule. We offer trade pricing for dive shops, fire and rescue services, hospitals, and contractors on regular delivery schedules. Send us a WhatsApp message with your application and quantity, and we will send a current quote.

Yes, we refill SCUBA cylinders to both 232 bar and 300 bar standards, depending on the cylinder rating. Cylinders are inspected before refill, and if yours is out of hydrostatic test or visually inspected, we will let you know and refer you for testing. Always check your cylinder's working pressure stamp before requesting a fill.

SCUBA cylinders typically need a visual inspection annually and a hydrostatic test every 5 years (this varies by cylinder material and manufacturer guidance). SCBA cylinders follow similar schedules. We will refuse to refill a cylinder that is out of inspection date for safety reasons, but we can point you to certified test stations if your cylinder needs a check before its next fill.

Yes, we deliver breathing and medical air across Dubai to dive shops, dive boats, hospitals, hotels with FM teams, industrial sites, and ambulance services. We run regular delivery routes for our standing-order clients so cylinders are always back in the rack before they are needed. WhatsApp us about setting up a refill schedule.
Most home CPAP and BiPAP machines use room air through their own internal compressors, so they do not need a medical air cylinder. Home ventilators and certain nebulizers may need cylinder-supplied medical air, depending on the prescription. Send us a WhatsApp message with your equipment and your doctor's instructions, and we will confirm whether you need cylinder air and what size to start with.
