It depends on volume, but as a rough guide: a 6kg cylinder typically lasts a busy cafe 2 to 4 weeks for soda and sparkling water, or around 4 to 6 weeks for kombucha or smaller setups. Yes, with the right setup. For draft beer and other dispense systems, you'll typically want a dip-tube cylinder (which delivers liquid CO2 from the bottom) and a proper regulator with the correct working pressure. We stock dip-tube versions of our 30kg cylinders specifically for beverage and draft applications. Tell us about your system and we'll match the right cylinder and regulator.
CO2 is non-flammable and non-toxic in normal use, but in high concentrations in enclosed spaces it can displace oxygen and cause suffocation. For indoor commercial use (cafes, restaurants, bars), make sure the area is reasonably ventilated, the cylinder is secured upright, connections are leak-tight, and a CO2 alarm is installed in walk-in coolers or small storage rooms.
